Unfortunately, our Holiday Toy Drive Special for the Toys For Tots Program has ended. However, we would like to report that it was a success, and we'd like to thank everyone that was able to donated in order to help the children in the area have a better Christmas.
We have decided to do another annual Toy Drive special again next year. Possibly, in the coming year, we can increase the supply in order to help even more children.

When Tint Jobs Go Bad
Recently, we've been spending a little extra time on the cars that have come in to our shop. Not because of our own mistakes but because of our competitors mistakes. Not only do we fix the $89 tint jobs, but we replace it with the HIGHEST quality film on the market.
In this economy, people want the lowest prices around, which is understandable. However, you always get what you pay for. Paying $89 on a tint job may seem like the most logical thing to do, yet what people don't understand is that the guys charging that much to tint your car is using garbage film that doesn't last that long, and you're getting maybe a decent job out of it, but not the BEST possible job you can get. And when it goes bad in a couple of years, you're stuck either replacing it, or driving around with it purple/bubbled/peeling. And when you decide to go back again and get the $89 tint job the second go around, 9 times out of 10 they won't take they're time, and end up scraping the defrosters, and antennas off your back window. But 9 out of 10 times we can find a way around scraping off your defroster. We take our time using our own different methods to get the old film off without ruining the defroster. So in the long run, you're spending more to replace it then just spending a little more in here up front, and getting a better job, and better quality film, WITH a LIFETIME free replacement warranty to boot.
We had the pleasure of replacing an example of such a tint job today, and had to remove old purple film that was originally put on it only a couple years ago..

Come visit us instead of taking your car back to the other guys, we'll replace it with the BEST film, and the BEST installation money can buy. Call us today for a free quote to remove and replace the old purple film on your car! We promise you'll never want to take it anywhere else!

Plotting Vs. Hand-Cutting
Man Versus Machine
Most tint shops lately have been wanting to drive home the concept of using a Plotter instead of hand-cutting on the glass. But frankly, their simply trying to scare the customers into thinking we'll destroy their glass, and interior. However compelling to customers this may sound, what they don't say is that there's no way to go about prepping the glass for window film without taking a razor blade to it. Not to mention, the plotter only squares out a back window, the film still needs to be heat-shrunk, and cut on the glass to fit properly. There's NO OTHER WAY AROUND IT. Period. The tinter's that cut up your glass are either inexperienced, using the wrong blades, or are just simply trying to rush and pressing too hard.
People might say we're not up to date on the times, but by buying expensive technology that we're not used to using could develop conflicting results, and it doesn't necessarily mean we're cheap either! Think about it. We've been hand-cutting the film on the glass for over three decades now. (without any complaints about scratched glass I might add) To suddenly start using pre-cut window patterns would waste more time than we're presumed to save. Another downfall would be relying on patterns that don't take into consideration gaps in moldings, and windows shifting from general wear and tear. We're to rely on a machine now to account for the unexpected?
I'm not trying to bash plotters, because we've tried them before, and they do have they're advantages. For the inexperienced tinters, they work better than trying to learn how to hand-cut on the glass at first. They also work better for employers training the first timer's. But our results with the plotters were unsatisfactory, and sticking to what we're best at seemed logical. We wasted more time adjusting blades and readjusting blades time and time again than just taking our time to make it perfect the first time.
For the most part, we can cut patterns out without even touching the glass on your side windows, and we already have a large collection of pre-cut patterns of our own. Most of the time, your door windows virtually never have to be touched with a knife, we can use the top part of the window as a template, and cut out the more detailed part on a cutting-board with a light behind it. However, like we previously stated, there's no way around cutting on the back window, even with a plotter. Our opinion on plotters is that they can't match the shear perfection that comes with a steady-hand of 33years experience behind it.

Cutting on a light-board, against our own pre-cut patterns, and NOT on your windows! NO Plotter Necessary!

2010 Chevy Camaro
Like the majority of our repeat customers, this one brought in his new 2010 Chevy Camaro because he trusted only us to do the work. Instead of getting it done at the dealer, he decided to turn down their offer of a free tint job, and take it to us, because we've done all of his cars for probably 20 years now. When this car was on special order he came in and talked to us about what he wanted on it. We used Llumar's ATR film on the car, we wanted to make sure that he had the best of the best film on this car.

This day was truly one of long term customers all day long. We had another customer come in that had a new Toyota Avalon, and I have been doing cars for them since I was 16. He is always happy with our work. He has told us that he will never take his car's anywhere else. We used LLumar's ATR films once again for him.
Our relationships with customers remain focused on providing the high-touch and personalized service that sets us apart. We are dedicated to providing high quality service to meet the varied and specific needs of our customers. When you are happy than we are happy! The highest compliment our customers can give is the referral of their friends, family, and business associates.

Our Advanced Film Solutions -- Saving You Money All Year Long!
The U.S. Department of Energy Has Declared October to be Energy Awareness Month
Window Film is one of the best ways to cut energy bills, make older houses more energy-efficient, and increase the energy efficiency of newer houses.
Saving on Your Energy Bills Year-round
Cooling costs related to the heat gained through windows can make up about 40% of a home's summer utility bill. Solar control window film reduces total solar energy by up to 80%, which helps lower your energy consumption.
In addition to energy savings all year long, window film can also:
Eligibility Of Tax Credits & How to Receive Them

If you itemize energy-related purchases on your federal income tax form, it will lower the total amount of tax you owe the government. Homeowners can receive a 10% credit on the total cost of the window film, up to $500.(Under section 25C of the Internal Revenue Code (I.R.C.), homeowners can receive a 10% credit on the costs of "qualified energy efficient improvments", Window Film qualifies as insulation for the purposes of the credit). Installation does not apply, only the cost of the film.
Eligible Building Envelope Component
An Insulation material that is specifically and primarily designed to reduce heat loss or gain of a residence.
How to Receive Credit
Complete IRS form 5695 and file 2009 Tax Returns by April 15, 2010. Maintain copies of the dealer invoice and the manufacturer's certification statement for your records. If you are audited, you will need to provide these documents to the IRS. For further information about tax credits, visit energy star website or U.S. Department of Energy website

Under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 several Panorama window film products qualify for Federal tax credits. Tax credits for these residential products, which had expired at the end of 2007, will now be available for improvements made during 2009.
Qualifying Components
See table to determine Panorama solar-control window film qualifying products for climate zone 2, and various windows.
Instructions
- Certified products are sorted by zone then window configuration.
1.For each window determine the glazing construction (glass and frame type) of the residence. Glazing type can include single pane clear, single pane tinted, double pane (IG) clear, double pane (IG) tinted, winter low-e or summer low-e. Frame type can include aluminum, wood or vinyl.
2.Qualifying products designated with a "YES" and are found to be in compliance with the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 for that climate zone and window configuration.
Additional notes
- For storm windows use the double pane clear, or double pane tinted configuration for determining product compliance.
- Compliance is not dependent on other factors, such as, trees, bushes, adjacent buildings, internal or external shaded devices (screens, blinds, curtains) nor is the orientation of the windows with the residence.
- If unable to determine the exact glass type use the more conservative value. If you do not know if a window is clear or low-e use the clear. If you know the glazing has a low-e coatin but do not know the type use the winter low-e column.
- Use of the Panorama solar safety versions is allowed as long as the standard film is also a qualifying product.
